Welcome!
My very first grown-up job was teaching English to those of junior high age. I also taught religious education to high school students. These age groups are my favorite groups to work with because life is still unfolding for them, and they see what is going on with very clear eyes. If you ask them, usually they speak the truth about what they see.

Why We Yearn to Live on Pandora, and Why We Can
More than at any other time of life, junior high and high school people (more specifically, those between 11 and 16) find themselves in the “in between.” They are no longer children, but they not yet adults. They are still being directed by authority figures, but they are discovering and testing their own freedom and independence. They are finding out who they are as individuals while experiencing ferocious peer pressure to become like everyone else. How they go though this in-between transition can very strongly influence the kind of adults they become.
Since I enjoy living with possibilities, I enjoy interacting with students who remain full of possibilities. They do not yet pretend that they are totally in control and have all the answers. They can still engage life with a sense of wonder.
I have a book pending for this age group. Once it is published, I will provide more information about that book and others that will follow. In the meantime, I offer here excerpts from my books—both published and unpublished—that I believe are relevant for a young audience. Poems and articles are included as well.
Let me know what you think! You can send me an e-mail using this site’s e-mail address (anitah@moontideproductions.com) or make a comment on the blog that has been specifically designed with a young audience in mind.
By the way—if you are on this page either because you yourself are still young-at-heart or because you are looking for material for your own son or daughter—be welcomed as well!
